Atapattu and Sangakkara shakes up Aussies
Kumar Sangakkara sent a scare through the Australian camp yesterday, scoring an unbeaten century to give Sri Lanka hope of saving – or even winning – the second cricket test at Bellerive Oval.
Without the 143-run partnership posted by Atapattu and Kumar Sangakkara yesterday, Sri Lankan optimism would have been non-existent.
Atapattu innings of 80 provided the Sri Lankans with an outside hope of clinching an astonishing victory, and a better chance of holding out for a draw that would end Australia’s 13-match winning streak.
